Our Week-End in London @ Harrods Food Hall
We love to go to London just before Christmas to see the lights and fabulous shops’ Christmas window displays and of course to go to the Food Hall at Harrods.
These are some of the magnificent cakes at the Harrods Cake Counter. There were so many people standing watching others buy and drooling. And some were even taking photos!
These are only 2 of the dozens of salads that were on offer in the Food Hall (my favourite place in London) I’m going to make these for Boxing Day (day after Christmas USA) to go with cold turkey, ham, and salt beef. Yum, can’t wait.
The first one is a Buttered Prawn and Tomato salad. Ingredients: Broad beans (Lima beans) peas, grilled artichokes, spinach, prawns, garlic, red bell peppers, Thyme, Coriander, Lemon,Parsley, s & p.
I can’t find fresh Broad beans this time of year so it will have to be frozen or tinned and I won’t be putting the prawns in because I want to keep it vegetarian. I think a classic French dressing or a Lemon and Olive Oil dressing would go nicely with it.
The second one is Chicken, Avocado & Mango salad. Ingredients: Chicken breasts, avocado,cucumber, fresh mango, red onions, mixed salad leaves, chives parsley and French dressing. I will make this one without the chicken to keep it vegetarian, as well.
I thought they had some nice ingredients and it’s always good to taste someone else’s combinations of familiar foods.
